Review:
The parallels between this film and The Exorcist is evident from the trailers, so I wont go too far into it. Just suffice it to say that the possession has no effect or shock value that the Exorcist. In short, just not as good film.However in its own right, its quite appropriate horror. The history of the central characters is a bit cliche?. Husband and wife divorced, they care about the children, there is a new boyfriend / girlfriend on the image, etc. This type of file is always advantageous when working with a messed up says you film. So what is wrong with the child inevitably obviňovánz that the child is simply not good dealing with the disintegration of his parents. And that is exactly what happens in possession, except that it is really something very wrong with the youngest daughter, and it has absolutely nothing to do with her parents. Not too far away, the plot revolves around an old wooden box youngest daughter is on sale. Of course he wants to, so he receives. And here begins there are some more strange phenomena, most of them downright scary, some hokey.All all I was pleased. This movie has good pacing, good behavior and excellent cinematography. There's too much I find fault here. If I had to mention my main complaint with this and similar films, it would be this: I am excited about the arrival PG-13 horror. Ive suspect this is due to the need to bring a wider audience (younger viewers / Youth), and make more money in ticket sales. Therefore, the final product tends to be a little powder for my taste. Possession shows many promise, but I can not help but wish that the writer / director would be pushing the envelope a little more fleshed out story. Then it would be great. As it stands now, Ill just say it's a good little horror. Nothing will be talking about this time next year, but I consider my money well spent.My Rating: 6.5/10
