JACK Reacher saw on Monday night prior to the test. Here are some of my thoughts. Out of spoilers.First, Id say that I agree with the general critical reception: 4/5 stars. By this I mean that the solid film that provides high end of the genre. Jack Reacher is not trying to be anything revolutionary, the more militant types of audiences have not seen while.This not Mission Impossible or James Bond. Writer / director Christopher McQuarrie takes its inspiration from the late 70 fighters, as 60s/early Dirty Harry (which was mentioned a few comments already), Bullitt (the chase), and maybe even a Don Siegel film, Charlie Varrick. The excitement here is not out of tricks over and a huge explosion. As with the militants simply refer you to the thrill of watching strongest hero to outwit, outplay and defeat the bad guys.Which brings me to the Jack Reacher character and Tom Cruise casting. A series of novels by Lee Child, this film is based, Jack Reacher is a former vice detective. After life spent on military bases overseas, he lives as a recluse in the United States belonging to the zero-life commitments: no home, no job, no car, no property, no family.
